I should also point out that I arrived at my count from the various posts on the WisPolitics Election blog, though my count for votes gained by Kloppenburg appears to differ from their latest count. I haven't been able to determine why, so these numbers could be incorrect but shouldn't.
These are the original numbers provided by the Associated Press.

Kloppenburg up by 390 votes in total By supporting efforts such as the Open Voting Consortium, we can add more transparency to our elections and avoid these situations altogether. Update: (4/8/2011 1:13pm) Removed suspicions about numbers since they're basically irrelevant and only cloud the discussion. The truly relevant suspicions are with regard to the vote counting process and the election system in Waukesha County as well as the time between the error's discovery and its public announcement. |
